Rosa Mystica: A Commonplace Book

The theme I use for this site, Kiko, lists posting categories at the top of the Archives page. But I’m going to list them here for your convenience, explaining each category. I’ll certainly update this as things change or new categories are added.

Brief Takes: Shorter, tweet-size quotes and observations – “Microblog posts,” as it were.

Divine Filiation: Posts related to the fatherhood of God, and how we who are redeemed by the only-begotten Son of God become the adopted sons and daughters of God. The pastor of my Roman Catholic parish has an excellent explanation of Divine Filiation here.

Four Last Things: Posts related to Death, Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory.

Holiness: Practical thoughts on “being perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect.”

Lent: Self-explanatory. Includes posts on death, the Passion, fasting, and alms.

Mary: Self-explanatory. All things Theotokos and stuff relating to her, like the Rosary, the Brown Scapular, and the Miraculous Medal.

Perseverance: Items referring to one of my guiding words for 2020.

Prayer: Self-explanatory.

Sacraments: Self-explanatory; covers the seven sacraments, inclulding the Eucharist and Confession.

Silence: Items referring to another another of my guiding words for 2020.

St Josemaria Escriva: One of my favorite saints. His writings and homilies provide a wealth of spiritual wisdom, especially regarding Divine Filiation.
